May Fly

To be a may fly,
To live for one night and die
To live your life in a day
When the sun shines make hay
While the rain pours grow rice
Burn in the fire and freeze in the ice

To bring warmth to the ones you love
By burning every ember in you
To remove every lock and every cover
That holds your dreams from coming true

To give till you have nothing left to give
Till you become the grains of sand
To open up your life and live
Till you become the vast open land

To laugh like its the last joy you'll see
with an open heart and mind
To laugh till you choke in the deed
and then laugh at a limitation that kind

To feel pain as if its torn your body and soul
Like you're bleeding without and within
To hurt like you died before reaching your goal
Like destiny failed you for no sin

To live like you'll live for a day
And will never see the next may
To live like you're the rising wave
That hits a rock, makes the earth quake
And the next instant it falls apart
Like a million pieces of a broken heart
And within an instant its out of sight
As if it never saw the light
