I was truly touched...

I was truly touched when a little girl smiled
and yelled my name out as I walked by her side.
The joy of familiarity glowed on her face,
and the radiance touched my heart in many different ways.

I was truly touched when tears welled in his eyes,
as his little girl walked past him, not knowing his pride.
she was led away, by the educators and the cross,
and he stood watching, proud of her gain and yet sad at his loss.

I was truly touched, when words failed the leader
when the crowd praised his efforts, and made him an achiever.
The victory made him humble, their admiration took him by surprise
And as they raised him on their shoulders, gratitude shown in his eyes.

I was truly touched, when a boy of merely five.
Made way for his mother, burdened with duties of life.
He walked like a warrior, and found her a place to rest a while.
His respect for her, made a man out of the child.

I have been truly touched,
by many incidents such as these,
when I have seen people accept.
Their life as a gift.
The things they do and feel
come merely from the heart.
There is no black or grey.
But pure love on their part.
