The sea and me

I sit by the sea and hear it roar
An angry wave that begins to soar
Then as it falls in a pleasing splash
It is quietened like a flame that burns to ash
The appeasement is such a pleasing sound
As it gently recedes away from the ground
To rise again in a violent tone
It hits and cuts into the hardest stone
And then as it recedes quietly into the sea
It cleans the sand of all its misery
The sea, the sand, the rocks tell a story
Of anger and strength and triumph and glory
Of strength to rise against the tide
And power and fury in every stride
Of determination to breakdown the hardest rock
An impossible mission, a challenge, a shock
And even though the water seems powerless as it splashes
Against the rock unmoved by the lashes
But slowly and gradually in eternal time
The impossible happens, unknown to mankind
And once where there were stones and rocks aplenty
There is only sand so smooth, so small, so dainty
And in the end it's peace that prevails
And happiness ever after at the end of every tale.
